The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie, written by Tennessee Williams, is a memory play which calls into question ideas involving intellectual independence, the nature of a person versus the ways they were raised, and the responsibilities held by members of a broken family. The Nebraska Repertory Theatre's rendition of this classic piece focuses on the regretful hindsight of Tom Wingfield as he serves as a Merchant Marine. On the deck of a riverboat passing by his once home of St. Louis, Missouri, the pieces of Tom's past are brought vividly to the forefront of his mind as he attempts to reconcile with his decisions.
